
Booking Policies

1. Booking Overview
By booking with Shanice-Ruth | Makeup · Hair · Education, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
These policies are in place to ensure every client receives a professional, organised, and fair service.
2. Securing Your Appointment

All appointments are secured on a first-come, first-served basis once the required payment or deposit has been received.

No date or time is held without payment.

For bridal bookings, a signed contract and booking fee are required to secure your wedding date.
3. Payments & Deposits

Bridal bookings: A non-refundable booking fee (amount stated in your quote) is required to secure the date. The remaining balance is due 14 days before the wedding, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Special occasion or studio appointments: Full payment or a small deposit may be required at the time of booking.

Education sessions or 1-to-1 lessons: A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to reserve your session.

Payments are taken securely via Stripe, which accepts all major debit and credit cards. You’ll receive an electronic invoice or payment link with full details when booking.

Booking fees and deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable in certain circumstances at my discretion.

All online payments are processed securely through Stripe, ensuring your card details are fully encrypted and never stored by us.
4. Travel & Location

Travel costs are calculated from Wisbech (PE13) or the studio location in Stevenage (SG1).

The first 10 miles may be included; additional mileage is charged per mile thereafter.

Parking, tolls or congestion fees (if applicable) will be added to the final invoice.
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Booking fees and deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.

Bridal bookings: Cancellations made within 8 weeks of the wedding date are subject to the full balance being due, as your date will have been reserved exclusively for you.

Special occasion or education bookings: Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment will result in the remaining balance being charged.

Rescheduling may be possible depending on availability but cannot be guaranteed.
6. Timeliness & Preparation

Please arrive on time and with clean, makeup-free skin and/or clean, dry hair (as required for your booking).

For mobile bookings, please ensure adequate lighting, seating, and access to mains power.

Delays beyond 15 minutes may reduce your appointment time or result in cancellation.
7. Health & Hygiene

I maintain strict hygiene standards for all brushes, tools, and products.

Clients are responsible for informing me of any allergies, sensitivities, or medical conditions that may affect treatment.

In the unlikely event of an allergic reaction, Shanice-Ruth | Makeup · Hair · Education cannot be held liable if full information was not disclosed.
8. Photography & Social Media

I may take photos or videos of my work for portfolio and marketing purposes.

If you prefer not to have your image used, please advise me before your appointment begins.
9. Force Majeure
In the unlikely event that I am unable to perform the agreed services due to circumstances beyond my control — including but not limited to illness, accident, extreme weather, travel disruption, or other unforeseen events — I will make every reasonable effort to arrange an alternative artist or solution.
However, no refunds will be issued, and Shanice-Ruth | Makeup · Hair · Education cannot be held liable for any costs, losses, or damages incurred as a result of such events.

By paying a booking fee, deposit, or invoice, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms above.
